Design an object tailored to your own measurements, preferences, and use context — applying user-centered design to yourself as the user.

What personalized design means
Most mass-produced objects are designed for an 'average' user that does not actually exist. Personalized design uses the actual measurements and needs of the specific user — in this case, YOU — to produce an object that fits perfectly. This is the same process used for custom orthotics, ergonomic workstations, and tailored clothing.
Taking your own measurements: what to measure
Before designing a personal object, measure the relevant dimensions. For a pen holder: measure your most-used pens (diameter, length) and desk space. For a phone stand: measure your phone dimensions (width, depth, thickness). Every measurement becomes a design constraint — always add 0.5mm clearance to any hole or slot that must accept a real object.
Adding your name to a design: text in Tinkercad
In Tinkercad, text shapes are available under 'Shape Generators → Text.' For an engraved name: set text to Hole, position it on the face, group with the solid — your name is now cut into the surface. For embossed: set text to Solid, position touching the surface. Set extrusion depth to 2–3mm for readability.
Design choices that express personality
Personalization goes beyond dimensions — it includes aesthetic choices. Shape language: rounded corners feel friendly and organic; sharp corners feel technical and precise. Decorative features: geometric patterns on surfaces, custom shapes as accents. Every aesthetic choice communicates something — choose deliberately, not randomly.

Add the clip slot
Box: 16mm (W) × 6mm (H) × 5mm (D). Set to Hole. Position centered at top edge. Group with base to create the slot.
